Meeting point: < rotor >
“New Graz” < rotor >
“Seismography of the Indefinite” the smallest gallery
“World's Flavor” Kunsthalle Graz
Under the overall theme of “Demarcations”, the aim of this tour is to get an initial, carefully chosen impression of the exhibitions at < rotor >, the smallest gallery, and Kunsthalle Graz. What borders had to be overcome to arrive in a “New Graz”? We will also be discussing what boundaries permit a “Seismography of the Indefinite” in the first place, and whether the “World's Flavor” can be limited.
Meeting point: Kunsthaus Graz
“Body Luggage” Kunsthaus Graz / Space02
“Markus Krottendorfer” Camera Austria
“Kneaded Knowledge” Kunsthaus Graz / Space01
“Ouzhou Palace” Forum Stadtpark
Our short visits to the main steirischer herbst show and the exhibitions at Kunsthaus Graz, Camera Austria and Forum Stadtpark focus on the aspect of the perspectivity of our perception. What forms of communication do we carry with us as “Body Luggage”, how can performance be translated into sculpture, what knowledge can be found in porcelain, and is Europe really a palace?
Meeting point: Künstlerhaus, Halle für Kunst & Medien
“Yes, but is it performable?” Künstlerhaus
“Beatrice Gibson” Grazer Kunstverein
“Zerstören” esc medien kunst labor
This Saturday again we will be trying to give visitors some initial insights into the exhibitions on show at Künstlerhaus, Halle für Kunst & Medien, Grazer Kunstverein, and esc medien kunst labor – this time around under the overall theme of communication. Can art only be expressed by way of performances or is performance simply art? The role of the voice and language in the work of “Beatrice Gibson” is certainly to communicate; at esc, on the other hand, it is about “Destroying”: but can it express that too?
