Born and raised by Sri Lankan parents in London, socialised on dub and the Notting Hill Carnival, Sasha Perera stranded in Berlin in 2000, went on to have a major influence on club culture as the singer of the band Jahcoozi. With her solo project “Perera Elsewhere”, however, the artist wants to place herself somewhere else, with blurred sound, political lyrics and post-digital aesthetic causing an international stir after her debut album “Everlast”. On her travels, Perera gathers acoustic inspirations, blending them with a touch of Trip Hop to create border-transcending pop music. Her performance is illustrated by the video artist and graphic designer Kévin Bray.
